Bit #34: Lessons in Lyrics~Smile

Little Life Lesson and Bit of Grace 34: There will always be a reason to smile
"Because of your smile, you make life more beautiful." ~Thich Nhat Hanh
"Smile, even if it's a sad smile, because sadder than a sad smile is the sadness of not knowing how to smile." ~Unknown
This week's Lessons in Lyrics comes from Nat King Cole. You'll be humming and singing this song for a while which will undoubtedly make you smile.
Smile though your heart is aching
Smile even though it's breaking
When there are clouds in the sky, you'll get by
If you smile through your fear and sorrow
Smile and maybe tomorrow
You'll see the sun come shining through for you
Light up your face with gladness
Hide every trace of sadness
Although a tear may be ever so near
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile
That's the time you must keep on trying
Smile, what's the use of crying?
You'll find that life is still worthwhile
If you just smile

  1. No matter who sings that song, I cry. Such amazing advice.
In fact, I just finished a book where he talked about how you can trick your own brain by smiling. The brain feels the muscles you use to smile and will actually be tricked into thinking you're happy. Interesting, isn't it? I'm definitely not saying you should just sweep things under the rug--it's so important to talk things out when you need to, but there are definitely times it's better to just smile. :)

  2. Is it bad that I sing every song you have on here... really loud?!
